Bagru is the home of hand block printing, an art form that borrows deeply from the state’s distinctive, vibrant, and rooted traditions. Through our workshop, we aim to provide you with a glimpse of how we create from natural colours and patterns that have found ready takers across the world.

During the two-day workshop, you will get to learn:

• How to do mud resist printing (Daboo Printing - Indigo)
• How to do block printing using natural dyes
• How to make various colours fast naturally
• How vegetable dyes work

DAY 1 — EXPLORE & LEARN BAGRU BLOCK PRINTING

Begin with a guided visit to our Bagru and Dabu printing units.

02. Learn About Natural Colours

Discover how traditional colours are prepared using natural and vegetable-based materials and understand their role in Rajasthan's textile printing traditions.

03. Hands-on Bagru Block Printing

Now it's your turn to print.

You will receive a 2.25-metre Mulmul Cotton Dupatta and choose wooden blocks from our collection.

With guidance from our artisan, you will learn how to:

Choose blocks → Apply colour → Position the block → Maintain alignment → Create your design

No previous printing experience is required.

DAY 2 — NATURAL DYE & TRADITIONAL PRINTING

04. Choose Your Natural Printing Technique

On the second day, you will experience one traditional natural printing technique:

Dabu Printing OR Natural Bagru Printing

The technique will be selected according to the workshop process and available materials.

05. Hands-on Natural Printing

Work with natural colours and traditional printing techniques under the guidance of our artisan.

You will understand how the print develops on the fabric and how different stages of the process affect the final colour and design.

06. Dyeing & Colour Development

Your printed fabric will then go through the required dyeing and colour-fixing process.

You will learn how traditional dyeing helps develop the final colours and patterns of the fabric.

07. Complete Your Creation

The second day takes you through the important finishing stages of the natural printing process, including the required dyeing, washing and finishing steps.

At the end of the experience, your handcrafted textile will be completed and ready to take home.
